Faux Finishing Demonstration
Presented by Patricia Winblad,
Patricia’s Decorative Arts Studio & Academy
Several faux finishing demonstrations by Patricia Winblad, Patricia's Decorative Arts Studio (937-558-2793), are scheduled throughout the show.
Faux is one of the hottest decorating trends of the moment. It involves creative use of paint and wallcoverings and a variety of application techniques to recreate historic, traditional, or unique decorative treatments that would be difficult, impossible, or prohibitively expensive to achieve with readily available materials.
Patricia Winblad is a decorator with over nine years experience in faux finishing. She has a degree in fine arts from the Columbus College of Art and Design and has received formal training at a number of faux schools, including the Martin Alan Hirsch Decorative Finishes Studio, the Kelly King Faux Finish Institute, and the School of Italian Plasters.
Her work has been featured on the HGTV Network program "This Small Space." She was one of only 12 decorators from throughout the nation chosen to work in Martin Alan Hirsch's personal home. Mr. Hirsch is recognized as one of the world's leading faux finish artists.

CoCo’s Bistro
One of Dayton’s new fine dining locations, CoCo’s Bistro serves up a great atmosphere and excellent food at prices that are just as easy to swallow. Owners Karen Wick and Jim Gagnet, previously operated CoCo’s 520 Grill in the Oregon District, but closed their doors in 1999 to make way for the expansion of The Blue Moon. They recently opened up CoCo’s Bistro, adding an expanded menu and relaxed ambience to their already top notch customer service. Whether for lunch or dinner, CoCo’s Bistro is a place that everyone can enjoy.

Brazilian Meatball with a Chunky Tomato Sauce and Manchego Cheese
Presented by Chef Andy Hallam
CENA
CENA... offers a unique blend of both Brazilian and Mediterranean dining traditions. The Brazilian churrasco (Brazilian BBQ) dining concept began in ancient European times where ancestors roasted meats over open fires. When you visit CENA, turn a disk at your table to green to signal the carptors (servers) to present you with long skewers of beef, chicken, pork, lamb, and ribs are basted with traditional marinades and gently roasted over an open flame. Simply turn your disk back to red when you've had enough or need a break. You can also choose from a seasonal selection bar including appetizers, soups, salads, and side items to complement the meats.
CENA is a great dining experience where, for the churrasco, you pay one set price and the meats just keep coming until you're completely satisfied.

Kitchen Planning & Design Workshop
Presented by NARI Certified Kitchen & Bath Remodelers
Kitchen remodeling is the single most popular type of home improvement project. Not only does a new kitchen provide a great deal of satisfaction to the home owners, but it is one of the key factors in the value of and marketability of the home.
Visitors to Homeworld 2008 can get basic training in the principles of kitchen design by attending a seminar to be presented during the show, by local Certified Kitchen & Bath Remodelers, members of the Miami Valley Chapter of the National Association of the Remodeling Industry.
This seminar will provide Homeworld visitors with invaluable information to help them plan improvements to the room that is generally recognized as the most important area of a home, the kitchen. For more information about kitchen design and for a list of local professionals, contact Miami Valley NARI at (937) 222-NARI or www.naridayton.org.
